SANTUARIO DELLA MADONNA DELLA LIBERA

The modern building in reinforced concrete, in an elliptical layout, was built to the plans of the architect  Baldassare Antonimi (1980),to replace a nineteenth century church dedicated to the Madonna della Libera, destroyed in the earthquake. The curved lines of the building are in the form of two arms, resting on the round, hands held together towards the sky in prayer. It covers an area of 650 square metres and has two supporting beams 36m high.
