Mother Church

Built in the XVI century, it was reorganised many times and assumed its present appearance between the years 1726-1736 with the façade by Giuseppe Mariani. The inside, which has an entrance hall with an organ, has three aisles and a vault decorated with frescoes by Giuseppe Tresca (1768). It is dedicated to the Madonna del Soccorso, patron saint of Castellammare, whose statue in majolica from 1599 can be admired in the chapel to the left of the main altar. In the church and in the sacristy there are frescoes by Domenico La Bruna (1738), from the church of the castello di Inici. Noteworthy is the  Crucifixion (1650) by Orazio Ferraro.
