PALAZZO CROCIFERI

In 1659, on the wishes of Princess Francesca Balsamo di Roccafiorita, the church of Maria SS. degli Agonizzanti and the connected monastery of Padre Crociferi, were founded. The monastery  was of the Ministri degli Infermi (Camilliani) order, founded by S. Camillo de Lellis in the XVI century, commonly called Crucifixes due to the large red cross they had on their robes. Today the ex-monastery is used as a boardroom and auditorium. From the monastery, a tunnel led to the Church of Purgatorio (Pergatory). The cloister during the summer is the venue for theatre representations and events like Cinema sotto le stelle - cinema under the stars (open- air cinema)
