ARATRO

L’Aratro – The plough was conceived as a prop for the La tragedia di Didone, regina di Cartagine by Christopher Marlowe, on the occasion of the first editions of the Orestiadi which took place on the ruins of Gibellina Vecchia. In the Aratro a series of typical marks of works by Arnaldo Pomodoro: the geometry, the importance of sculptural spaces which overtake the solids, the link between sculpture and the surrounding area. The over measurement of the work with respect to reality loses its importance by virtue of its fusion with the surrounding landscape..
